Majors Typhoons 1 – 12 Aberdeen Dodgers
The Aberdeen Dodgers silenced the TTBC Typhoons in a game at To Shek field on a gloomy Sunday afternoon.
Parker Shapiro made his second start of the season on the mound for the Typhoons. However, after two consecutive errors, the Dodgers took a 2-0 lead over the Typhoons in the top of the 1st inning.
In the bottom half of the inning, second baseman Troy Cheng started off with a single to center field. Unfortunately, the Typhoons’ bats remained silent until the bottom of the 5th inning when George Hosford hit an inside-the-park home run, preventing a shutout by the Dodgers.
Troy came in to relieve in the 3rd inning with no outs and the bases loaded. After striking out the first batter he faced, a misplayed infield fly ball and an additional error resulted in a 7-run inning for the Dodgers.
George also came in to pitch in the 5th inning, but the Typhoons were unable to overcome the steep deficit.
The loss by the Typhoons brings their season record below .500 and locks them into the 5th spot in the playoff seedings.
