We are pleased to announce the appointment of our new TTBC President, Sabrina Hosford, who brings a strong background in softball to the role. With a wealth of experience in the sport and a deep understanding of its values, Sabrina is well-positioned to lead TTBC into the future. Her vision aligns seamlessly with the organization’s goals, and she is committed to enhancing the overall experience for players, coaches, and families.

As we bid farewell to President Rich Waag and his family, an integral part of the TTBC community, we reflect on the memories created during their time here in Hong Kong. Rich’s dedication and involvement in TTBC, from T-ball all the way up to the Juniors and Seniors levels, have left a lasting impact on our community.

We extend our heartfelt wishes for their continued success and happiness. The bonds they have formed will always be remembered within the TTBC family.

Sabrina Hosford

Sabrina Hosford has been an integral member of TTBC for the past 5 years. As a parent, she has actively supported the organization, with her kids participating in the Majors and Coach’s Pitch Divisions in the coming year. Additionally, Sabrina has taken on coaching responsibilities, serving as the Head Coach of the CP Typhoons and working collaboratively with Scott Shapiro and Tim Hosford to lead the Majors Typhoons to an impressive 3rd place in the Majors Division last year. Her dedication, leadership, and teamwork skills have made a significant impact on the success of TTBC.

Jota, a steadfast member of TTBC for 11 years. The Senior Eagles’ took a remarkable journey to being Runner Up in the fiercely competitive 2023-24 season. As a cherished part of the TTBC family for many seasons, Jota’s commitment shines brightly both on and off the field. His influence extends beyond the playing grounds, shaping teamwork and perseverance that defines TTBC. With two kids already having played in TTBC, his dedication runs deep within the club. It is a proud continuation of a tradition of passion and excellence that he upholds with unwavering support.

Jota cheers for the New York Mets and outside Hong Kong, Japan is home.

Scott Shapiro
Tournament Director

Scott has been an integral member of the Tai Tam Baseball Club (TTBC) for six years, with unwavering dedication to the sport and its community. His commitment extends to coaching and supporting young athletes, particularly his sons who are set to compete in the Juniors and Minors Divisions. H lead the Typhoons to 3rd place in the competitive 2023-24 season. Scott is also President of the Hong Kong Little League for the second year helping develop youth baseball across Hong Kong.  He also took a 12U Team to the US Blue Crab, Cal Ripken Tournament during the summer. 

He cheers for the New York Mets and outside Hong Kong, he calls New York, USA home.

Chris Unertl

Chris Unertl
Equipment Director

Chris, a dedicated member of the TTBC for nearly a decade, has achieved success as the coach of the Patriots, leading them to a third-place finish in the 2023-24 season. Chris’s son participates in both the Seniors and Juniors Leagues. Additionally, Chris is also a member of the Hong Kong Little League Board and supports an ongoing commitment to the growth and success of youth sports programs in Hong Kong.

Outside Hong Kong, California, USA is home.

Tim Hosford
Marketing Director

Tim brings five-years to TTBC, making notable contributions as a coach. He has shown dedication and passion for the sport by coaching with Scott Shapiro, achieving an impressive 3rd place finish in the Majors Division last year. With two children involved in the Majors and Coach’s Pitch Divisions, Tim’s commitment to fostering their growth within the baseball community is evident. Additionally, his position on the Hong Kong Little League Board reflects his commitment to shaping the future of baseball in the region.

He cheers for the LA Dodgers and calls California, USA home outside of Hong Kong.

Sean’s impactful tenure at TTBC spans over 13 years, during which he collaborated closely with Jota to lead the Senior Eagles to an impressive Runner-Up finish in the 2023-24 season. Besides his coaching achievements, Sean’s deep connection to the club extends further as both of his children have had the honor of representing TTBC on the field. Currently, his son will play in the new 18U League, carrying on the family legacy of dedication and skill within the club.

Born in Hong Kong he grew up and played Little League baseball in Vancouver. He is a supporter of the Blue Jays and the Mariners.

Majors Rep

Chris has been a member of TTBC for 6 years and has 2 boys that play in the Majors and Minors Divisions. He Coached the Pirates to 4th Place in the Majors Division last year. He coached with Scott Shapiro with the 12U Team to the US Blue Crab, Cal Ripken Tournament over the Summer.
