Majors Typhoons 11 – 3 TTBC Pirates

In the inter-club match between the TTBC Typhoons and the TTBC Pirates, the Typhoons took home the win against the Pirates.

Parker Shapiro, making his first start of the year, retired Ethan Man and Kachin Parich for the first two outs.

After walking Guillaume Hollingsworth, George Rao reached on an error, and Saul Friedman then hit a liner to center field, giving the Pirates a 2-0 lead. Trey Gigilo stole home, and the first inning ended with a score of 3-0.

In the bottom of the first, the Typhoons answered back. George Hosford singled, stole second base, and then stole third. George scored on a wild pitch.

The Pirates were unable to score for the rest of the game due to the excellent defense and pitching by the Typhoons.

Trailing 3-1, the Typhoons started to make a comeback in the bottom of the second inning.  Parker hit a double to left field and later scored on a steal of home.

In the next inning, Ryder Lee was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a wild pitch, and then stole third.  Troy grounded into the infield, scoring Ryder and tying the game at 3-3.

Troy Cheng came in as relief for Parker and held the Pirates scoreless while striking out three batters in the fourth and fifth innings.

The Typhoons added another run in the bottom of the fifth when Lucas Liu hit a double into left field, advanced to third base on an error, and later scored on a wild throw to third base.

The Typhoons broke the game open in the bottom of the fifth by sending 10 batters to the plate.  Fred Fu hit a double into left field, Nicky Artman hit a line drive to right field, Lucas added another hit, and Ryder and Troy’s singles all contributed to a 6-run fifth inning.

With a score of 11-3, the game ended due to the mercy rule, with the Typhoons defeating the Pirates.
