TTBC Eagles Juniors Claim Victory Over TTBC Patriots Juniors

TTBC Junior Eagles 9 – 6 Patriots

The TTBC Eagles Juniors (8-0) emerged victorious over the TTBC Patriots Juniors (3-5), with a 9-6 win this past Tuesday night under the stadium lights at HKIS.

The game started out with Adrian Unertl of the Patriots hitting an RBI single that put the Patriots on the scoreboard.

However, the Eagles responded by scoring four runs thanks to Andes Chai’s two-run double, followed by Ryan Lem’s double that batted in another, and then by Ryan Kim’s single driving another run in making it 4-1 by the end of the first inning.

The Eagles extended their lead in the second inning with two more runs, with Khai Harris and Chai both hitting doubles.

Leading the Patriots was Harrison Waag, who went 2 for 4 with three RBIs, not to mention his stealthy baserunning which resulted in three stolen bases and key to scoring three runs.

As for pitching, Chai started for the Eagles. He secured the much-deserved win by allowing only three hits and one earned run over 5 2/3 innings while striking out an impressive 10 and walking two. Kim came in as relief to finish off the game.

Starting for the Patriots was the lefty Waag, who struck out three batters while walking five. One notable aspect of the southpaw was his impressive pick-off moves; they were very effective in keeping the normally high-stealing Eagle baserunners at bay. Brendan Witherington and Riggs Ernst came in as relief in the latter inning.

With the holiday winter break coming up, the next games for both teams will be in 2024, including a rematch against these two rival teams.
