The TTBC Typhoons were victorious against the TTBC Pirates, securing their spot in the semi-finals. In the playoff match between the two teams, Guilluame Hollingsworth of the Pirates dominated the Typhoon batters in the top of the 1st inning, preventing them from scoring any runs.
Troy Cheng started the game as the pitcher for the Typhoons. Despite pitching a no-hitter, fielding mistakes and throwing errors allowed the Pirates to gain a 2-0 advantage after the first inning.
However, the Typhoons quickly responded in the top of the 2nd inning, with Logan Xu’s RBI single driving home Parker Shapiro. Troy Cheng also hit a single down the right field line, which could have resulted in runs scored by Robbie Pliner and Logan Xu. Unfortunately, the inning ended due to a baserunning mistake by Robbie. The Typhoons settled for a score of 2-1 in the middle of the 2nd inning.
Troy Cheng efficiently retired the Pirates in the bottom half of the inning, and the Typhoons managed to add another run in the following inning. With two outs, George Hosford came in as a relief pitcher for Troy. The Typhoons finally gave up their first hit of the day, allowing Ethan Man and Saul Friedman to score, giving the Pirates a 4-2 advantage. The Pirates added one more run before George struck out Trey Giglio to end the inning.
The score remained unchanged until George Rao entered the game as a relief pitcher for the Pirates. Troy Cheng started the Typhoons’ comeback by hitting a single to right field, sparking a nine-run inning. Players throughout the lineup contributed multiple hits, including Aaron Lee, George Hosford, Nicky Artman, and Troy Cheng. Ryder Lee closed the game for the Typhoons with no walks and a strikeout.
