Majors Typhoons

Majors Typhoons 4 – 10  Astros

The TTBC Typhoons suffered a loss against the first-place Astros. 

The game began with a 45-minute delay as daylight transitioned into nightfall.  Troy Cheng took the mound for the Typhoons.  Unfortunately, the Typhoons quickly allowed 2 runs due to errors and defensive mistakes.  

However, they managed to respond with 2 runs of their own.  Logan Xu drew a walk, and George Hosford hit a deep ground-rule double, setting the stage for Aaron Lee, who lined a single to bring Logan home.  George then scored on a throwing error, tying the score at 2-2.

Despite some great plays by Fred Fu at first base, the Typhoons continued to make errors, allowing the Astros to score 4 more runs in the top of the 2nd inning.  The Typhoons were unable to produce any runs in the bottom of the 2nd and went down in order.

Parker Shapiro replaced Troy as the relief pitcher.  Fred made an impressive double play at first base, and George’s excellent play at shortstop ended the inning quickly.

In the bottom of the 3rd, Ryder Lee reached base with a tap single to the pitcher. Troy lined a double down the right field line, driving in Ryder.  Troy later scored on a groundout RBI by George, bringing the Typhoons within a deficit of 6-4.

In the top of the 4th, the Astros extended their lead due to a misplayed flyball by left fielder Nicky Artman.  Aaron Lee executed a double play to end the inning.

George Hosford took over as the relief pitcher in the top of the 6th, but the Typhoons were unable to mount a comeback.
