Dear TTBC Community—
One of the HKLL outreach programs, the Challenger Cup, takes place every two weeks at To Shek. Our HKLL teams are invited to teach and coach baseball to less advantaged adults and play a live game out on the To Shek field. The kids were able to hit and catch with these amazing adults and then play a live game between two teams. Our kids buddied up with each adult player and helped them move around the bases in a fantastic 1 inning game which ended in a thrilling tie at 3-3. Daniel and Julian Zhang were team captains and helped pitch, along with Nicki Hui and Shaye Schroth. Adin Friedlander, Duncan Rach, Sebastian Schroth and Aiden Kuo were outstanding at coaching their teams and helping their players catch, throw and hit the ball. There were some zany plays, great strategic base stealing, stellar catches and big hits. But mostly there were loads of laughs, huge smiles and warm hugs of appreciation from all the adults who participated. Huge thank you also to the fabulous Chenyue Yu who acted as our photo journalist and the very entertaining Sean Rach who directed the camera for live action plays. Also to the incomparable Vincci Lo who helped set up the event! It was a really rewarding and memorable day out on the diamond for all of us!
